Crescent Hill’s lessons for kids meet young students where they are at and build confidence, skills, and a love for the sport.

Snow Cubs

A confidence-building introduction to skiing or snowboarding, designed for early learners ages 5 to 6.

    Goals & Expectations:

    • The aim of Snow Cubs is to create a safe, positive first experience where young riders learn real skills, feel successful, and get excited to come back for more. Every child progresses differently. Our goal is confidence, safety, and a positive first experience.   
    • Participants can expect to experience the following: Getting comfortable with equipment; Standing, sliding, and balancing safely; Learning to stop using wedge/pizza (ski) or heel/toe edges (snowboard); Beginning turns on gentle terrain; Building independence and confidence on snow 

    Note for Parents:

    • Young riders learn best through short activities, encouragement, and lots of movement—expect plenty of stops and starts.  

    Little Shredders (Beginners)

    Designed for learners ages 7 to 11 who have never been on the snow or perhaps have some experience with putting on boots, turning, and stopping. Riding the chairlift is not an expectation, but may be practiced depending on student progress.

      Age

      • Ages 7 to 11
      • Designed for beginners. Beginners are defined as visitors who have never been on the snow or have some experience with putting on boots, turning, and stopping. Riding the chairlift is not an expectation for Beginner Lessons.

      • 2 hours

      Weekend Warriors (Level 1)

      Designed for learners ages 7 to 11 who have been on the snow before can control speed and direction using basic ski or snowboard techniques, can come to a complete stop, and can safely ride the chairlift.

        • Weekends & Holidays (not available opening weekend)

        • AM Session: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  
        • PM Session: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

        • $95 per child

        Age

        • Ages 7 to 11
        • Designed for visitors with Level 1 experience. Level 1 is defined as visitors who have been on the snow before can control speed and direction using basic ski or snowboard techniques, can come to a complete stop, and can safely ride the chairlift.

        Duration

        • 2 hours

        What Parents Should Know

        • Please be sure to arrive, at a MINIMUM, one hour early. This will ensure you have enough time to check in at the front desk to receive your lift ticket and get fitted with equipment. Lines and wait times may be long. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are late to your lesson.
        • Dress your child in warm, waterproof layers, gloves, and ski goggles or sunglasses. Helmets can be rented at the lodge for $15 and are highly encouraged. Goggles may be available for purchase at the lodge. Layering is important, and layers can always be removed if needed. 
        • Instructors will guide the lesson; parents can watch from the sidelines but should not join on the snow. 

        Other Important Details  |  Please Read Before Booking

        • Online reservations are highly recommended. Walk-in bookings may be available, but are not guaranteed.
        • Lessons start promptly at the time listed while booking.
        • Please be sure to arrive, at a MINIMUM, one hour early.         • Please check in at the front desk upstairs at the ski lodge when you arrive.
        • Snow Cubs, Little Shredders, and Weekend Warriors lessons INCLUDE a lift ticket and rentals.
        • Private, Semi-Private, Beginner, and Level 1 Lessons DO NOT INCLUDE a lift ticket or rental equipment. These items will need to be purchased separately in advance of your lesson. Pre-purchasing a lift ticket and rentals is the best way to ensure availability and will save you time when you arrive.
        • Crescent Hill has a no-refund policy. If Crescent Hill closes due to weather during your lesson time, we will work with you to reschedule your lesson.
        • Reschedule requests must be received at LEAST 24 hours in advance by email to info@explorecrescenthill.com. Failing to provide this notice will result in your lesson being canceled without a refund. Lessons may only be rescheduled once.
        • Please be sure to dress appropriately for winter weather. Layers are highly recommended, as are gloves, a hat, and sunglasses or goggles.
